When Angela Birdsong was a little girl, she fell in love...

with a mansion.  She saw the potential for a romantic life

restored in the brick walls of New Canton Plantation.

Today, Angela and her husband Bill are the Plantations owners.

They have restored the mansion giving attention to every detail

bringing back the mystique and elegance of the Old South.

The majestic steps leading up to the mansion speak of

tradition and refinement. One can almost hear the rustle of

taffeta skirts inside the stately parlors. New Canton is not a

fabrication. It is living history.

Prepare for a getaway of romance, elegance, and historic

intrigue amidst 50 rolling acres of privacy and beauty.

The expansive property was originally granted

by the King of England in the late 1700’s. By 1840, the

mansion was built by the Hord family and is one of the few

remaining plantation homes surviving today. Thoughtfully

furnished with period art and antiques, the Plantation is

reminiscent of the true Antebellum South.

This unique setting offers so much to enjoy and experience.

Stroll the secluded grounds, wander through the mansion,

and indulge in the rich history of a bygone era. New Canton

Plantation is a wonderful gathering place for family and

friends. Separate and spacious bridal suite and groom’s

quarters offer privacy to the bridal party. Large trees

offer breathtaking ceremony sites and photo opportunities.

Guests can mingle in the house and into a large

tented reception area.

Located just off Highway 11W and minutes from Kingsport,

guests can easily access dining, accommodations and the

regional airport. The Plantation can easily host up to 150

guests. Parking is on site and assisted by attendants. The

staff is eager to provide customized services for your

special needs. Let The Plantation add the privacy, charm,
